Sailing has a multitude of beautiful facets. One is a well flown spinnaker, from both the on board perspective as well as looking at the (usual) colorful sail going by.

Would you like to learn the basics of flying a symmetrical spinnaker? Then this clinic is for you!

I plan on a dock talk about the basics of launching, flying, jibing and dousing a symetrical spinnaker as well as repacking to get ready to fly again. We will have the opportunity to practice at the dock where it is much easier to explain. Some basic trim will be discussed.

Should the weather be favorable, those who would like could go out for some on river practice after lunch. Plus, there will be a beer can race that evening (1700 hrs) for you to put into use your new found skill.

Cando could be used for the river part, but her “baby stay” poses an additional challenge to jibes and pole work. If you have a boat that could use a spinnaker, but never, or seldom has, this could be a good opportunity to invite people to sail your boat (with you) and get to know your boat a bit better.

I have the reserved the club for the clinic from 10 to 1 so that we have lunch together.

Please let me know if you will attend and if you may be open to offering your boat for the on the river part should we choose to go out that afternoon.
