Hello Members!
I have been approached by a few members asking if I could organize a CPR and AED Red Cross certification course at RCYC for our members. I think it is a great idea. We have an AED, but how many of us know how to starting using it? I don’t. Plus my CPR certification has expired. This would be a great opportunity to get current. I am sure other members are in the same boat.
I contacted the Red Cross in Portland. If there is sufficient interest, they will come to RCYC and put on a course potentially covering basic first aid, pediatric CPR, adult CPR and AED training. It is up to us to decide what we would like to do.
There is a cost to do this. The basic CPR and AED class would be a bit more than $100 per person attending the course. The exact cost depends on how many members we have attending and the content.
If you are interested, could you write back to me letting me know if you are interested in attaining a certification. Let me know which course you would like to have covered.
Basic First Aid
Pediatric CPR
Adult CPR
AED
With your feed back, I can then have a better idea of class size and material that should be covered. I will then contact the Red Cross and get a better idea of cost and the time needed to cover the material. I would like to have this clinic in January 2023.
