        INTRODUCTION

We are pleased with your decision to join Rose City Yacht Club. So what are we about? What are our expectations of you as a member?

        In general,

We perceive of ourselves as a yacht club, not just an inexpensive moorage for boats.
We maintain and repair the Club’s property and equipment ourselves through volunteerism of our members.
We have administrative functions that are fulfilled on an unpaid, volunteer basis.
We have social functions that are made possible by participation of Members in the organization. Social functions include work parties, barbecues, parties, cruises, racing and many others.

What do we expect of you?

We expect you to become an active, informed, and participating member.
We would like to see you attending club cruises and social events.
We would like to have you volunteer to assist in putting on social events.
We want to get to know you and not just see your boat in the moorage. In fact:
If all you want is a place to moor your boat, this is not the club for you.
We want you to become part of the Rose City circle of family and friends.
To accomplish this we need you actively participating and being involved in the club.

For this reason, we ask that you attend a “New Member Orientation” to provide you with the information to accomplish this goal.

Contact Ron Moran to find out when the next class is scheduled.
